Our Approach To Learning

Outdoor learning is at the heart of our curriculum, and our quiet rural setting is the perfect place for children to develop and learn, fostering lifelong involvement with nature and activity in the outdoors.

Hundon Hedgehogs' curriculum strongly supports the importance of children having the opportunity to interact with the natural environment, and not only are we lucky to have a large grassed outdoor play area, but Hundon provides the perfect backdrop for nature walks, and visits to our very own allotment.  The children also have the opportunity of visiting the local park adjacent to the hall, and we encourage as much outdoor playtime as possible in order to help promote development of gross motor skills.

The staff stimulate the children's interest through the activities and opportunities for play they offer.  There are plentiful opportunities for role play, crafts, cooking, music-making, sharing stories, problem solving activities and much more.  Our setting strongly promotes creativity, and we help children to develop through imaginative play, and children take an active role in adapting resources to their own interests.
